Intuitive, Psychic or Mediumistic?

Throughout time mankind has explored the ability to communicate with the Gods, with Nature, or each other on a non-verbal level. It is extremely common for us to use the term intuitive in the world and intuition is often the explanation given by many an entrepreneur or successful decision-maker – “I just trusted my gut”, “What I love about Mary is she is just so intuitive and makes the right decisions”.

Psychic on the other hand, although nowadays often known within a household, conjures up distrust, fake, absurd, not possible. Perhaps these attributes are attached because of our personal belief system that does not value or agrees with the skill set.

A definition of Intuitive is:

having the ability to know or understand things without any proof or evidence: having or characterized by intuition: based on or agreeing with what is known or understood without any proof or evidence: known or understood by intuition: agreeing with what seems naturally right

A definition of Psychic is:

of or relating to the psyche (psychogenic):  lying outside the sphere of physical science or knowledge:  immaterial, moral, or spiritual in origin or force:  sensitive to nonphysical or supernatural forces and influences:  marked by extraordinary or mysterious sensitivity, perception, or understanding

The Wikipedia definition for Psychic is that the word is derived from the Greek word psychikos‘ (“of the mind” or “mental”) and refers in part to the human mind or psyche (ex. “psychic turmoil”). The Greek word also means “soul”.

A definition of Mediumistic is:

of, relating to, or having the qualities of a spiritualist medium (an individual held to be a channel of communication between the earthly world and a world of spirits)

I suggest to you that the same mechanics are involved in intuition as in psychic as in being a medium. It is information that we obtain or become aware of from a realm unseen, information that there appears to be no proof or evidence at the moment of its source but is valuable and worth taking notice of. When we study quanta and the Universal Laws of Nature we are now, with the help of advances in science and technology, able to quantify much more of how Nature and the physical body communicate; how it (Nature or our body) heals and grows (bio-energetics). Our movies and obsession in Sci-Fi and the paranormal is perhaps just a means to having us open up our minds to so much more possibilities to life?

ESP (Extra Sensory Perception) is the term used in the early days by Dr. Louisa Rhines (Duke University) and other researchers of Parapsychology and experiments were done with Zener cards to determine if there is ESP, clairvoyance and such phenomena. According to the articles, there were a large number of hits (correct answers) that pointed to it being beyond chance. Some individuals seemed more attuned than others. Each of you should make your own decisions but I suggest you explore how science is changing and in addition, reflect back upon your life experiences.

The challenge we have in accepting whether intuition and psychic/mediumship behavior is real is that our mind, our memories, our education triggers the ego to dispel the probability and possibility of these events dependent upon our circumstances and emotional attachment to the event. By this I mean that we can easily accept intuition being real, we can even accept that our Loved Ones who have physically died are watching over us or “I feel their presence every day” yet many if asked as to whether they believe in psychics or mediums and their ability to communicate with the dead then an adamant No (or absolutely not) may pop up. So my ego has now come to a conclusion that my belief in the Divine Source allows me to know that my deceased friends and family members are with me but my ego also rejects the same mechanics that give me that personal knowledge of the ability for others to “talk” with my Loved One. If the deceased family are around me watching and supporting then why would they not also communicate with you? Well, they do.

Throughout all of time, there has been an inability among scientists to scientifically “prove” paranormal phenomena. Yet through all of time, the unseen realm was consulted by “seers, prophets, soothsayers, oracles” to comfort or assist in decision making.

My experiences have shown that the phenomena are real but it comes with its “handicaps”. Often the information can be too subjective, the client interjects their story with data, we fish for information but a good communicator can still say focused and get pertinent answers.

Psychic readings also involve reading the energy in the environment, the energy and body language of the client and a more symbolic representation of information. After 20+ years of working with the metaphysical, I have found that with practice, diligence and learning how to be of service by understanding Natural Law and energy you expand and data results higher than simply chance will occur. Developing “psychic ability” is a wonderful tool in your spiritual path. If so inclined I suggest you explore more intensive development such that you can become a medium. A medium has the capability to obtain information such as form of death, personality characteristics, family memories, and ancestral lineage, and have those Loved Ones pass on information to those still living.

What is the Benefit to Developing One’s Intuition

The primary benefit is learning to trust those random thoughts or feelings that are given us when we are trying to find a solution to a problem, when we are in a time of distress asking for help. Waking up in the morning and suddenly having your answer, your next patent solution, your confidence in self that you have the answers within. You also become more connected with your environment and enjoy more peaceful times by accessing the Universal Energy (or Universal Mind).

To become a psychic or medium you simply take the intuitive skills forward to access data and information upon request from the environment with intention. Psychics and mediums are individuals who have chosen to develop these skills to serve individuals who are in a place of grief of the loss of a family member or friend. The greatest gift that can be given by a medium is to provide details of the deceased to confirm Continuity of Life. That shows that deceased Loved Ones are around the individual.
